Four policemen killed, 12 tankers torched at Tila Gang

 TILA GANG: Twelve oil tankers transporting fuel for Nato were set on fire by miscreants also killing four policemen in Tila Gang area, RPO Aslam Tarin told Geo News Saturday.

He said unknown miscreants opened indiscriminate firing on tankers parked at a petrol pump at Mianwali Road in Tila Gang that triggered fire in the tankers and the pump.

People expect controversies from girls: Deepika

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan and his co-actor Barbara Mori, whose chemistry has been the talk of the town for a while now, even though their film Kites is yet to release. However, Barbara wasn’t very sure of working with Hrithik and had her doubts about the actor after watching some of his videos on YouTube. Apparently, after she had been signed on for the film by the Roshans, she looked through some of Hrithik’s videos on YouTube and was unimpressed. She discussed her uncertainties with the Roshans. On learning that his co-star on such a major project was unsure of working with him, Hrithik gave her DVDs of his films Koi Mil Gaya, Lakshya and Dhoom 2 when he met her before the shooting of Kites. Hrithik states that Barbara had watched some of his not-so-nice videos on YouTube when his father, Rakesh Roshan told her that he would be her co-star. He made her watch the DVDs in order to prove to her that he was a good performer and also to give her an idea about Indian cinema. The DVDs also changed her opinion about him. Hrithik asserts that it wasn’t just Barbara whose opinion changed. Everyone else who watched the DVD also had a change of opinion.

CJ speaks against wasting national money

 ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) called the record of Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC) relating a contract of importing the LNG given to a French news agency, Geo News reported Wednesday.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry said the national wealth would not be allowed to be squandered.

A three-member SC bench headed by the CJ Chaudhry heard the case regarding the import of Liquefied Natural Gas and called the original record of Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC) in connection with giving contract of LNG import to a French company.

John and I don't feel the need to get married: Bipasha

China to back Pakistan stance on civil nuclear deal

 ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani reiterated his government’s commitment to take all parliamentary parties into confidence on all national policies particularly defence, Kashmir and nuclear policies.

In his opening statement while chairing a special meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security at the Parliament House Wednesday afternoon, the Prime Minister said Pakistan being a nuclear state was cognizant of its responsibilities.

Pakistan has developed effective nuclear safety, security and non-proliferation measures underpinned by extensive legislative, regulatory and administrative framework, he added.

Siddiquis, Maliks reach deal; Shoaib signs divorce

 NEW DELHI: The ordeal of families of Aytesha Siddiqui and Shoaib Malik came to an end when both the families reached a compromise late on Tuesday night with the divorce paper signed by Shoaib Malik handed to Siddiquis.

Also, the FIR filed by the first wife of Pakistan cricketer and former captain Shoaib Malik, has been withdrawn by the family.

According to the deal, Shoaib signed the divorce paper.

Conjoined Gaza twins arrive in Saudi for surgery

 GAZA CITY: The first known Palestinian conjoined twins were flown to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday for separation surgery, overcoming a particularly Gazan string of obstacles including a blockade, squabbling governments and even holidays.

Egyptian officials authorized a rare opening of the Rafah crossing Tuesday so the 11-day-old girls, their parents and a medical team could enter Egypt. A special Saudi medical plane then whisked them to Saudi Arabia, where Saudi King Abdullah will pay for their operation.

Khaled al-Marghalani of the Saudi Health Ministry confirmed the twins had arrived and been taken to the National Guard Hospital in the capital, Riyadh.

Obama to limit use of US nuclear weapons

 WASHINGTON: President Barack Obama plans to place new restrictions on the use of atomic weapons as part of a major US nuclear policy overhaul, a senior administration official said on Monday.

In an interview with US newspaper, Obama said he would make exceptions for "outliers like Iran and North Korea," but stress non-nuclear deterrence and eliminate Cold War ambiguities about when such weapons could be used.

Pak Air Force shows power in Thal

 KARACHI: Pakistan Air Force is displaying its acumen in aerial capability today in Jhang area of Thal in connection with countrywide high mark exercises, Geo News reported Tuesday.

Various practices including air-to-land targeting with missiles and bombs are being conducted during the exercises.

The high-mark exercises will include the display of drone planes being used in ground operation against the extremists in the ongoing anti-terror war in collaboration with the PAF.

Shoaib, Sania while away time with ice cream outing

 HYDERABAD: Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis queen Sania Mirza gone for outing and ate ice cream on Monday evening to release the tension surrounded them due to the controversy of Shoaib’s alleged first marriage to Ayesha Siddiqui.

Zardari calls on Parliament to pass 18th Amendment

The President said the 18th amendment has already been laid in the parliament, terming it an unprecedented show of national solidarity and a great success of the democratic process.

Peshawar blasts: Six including two security men dead

 PESHAWAR: Two security men martyred and four attackers were killed when heavily armed militants in two vehicles tried to storm the US consulate in Peshawar on Monday.

A series of powerful explosions and gunfire rocked Peshawar area of Saddar as heavy grey smoke spewed into the sky, witnesses and a security official said.

Khyber Road where the US Consulate building is situated, is being air-monitored by the helicopters.

Passport seized, 'cheat' Shoaib Malik can't leave India

A Pakistan-based lawyer hired by Ayesha Siddiqui, the Indian girl claiming to be Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik's wife, will file a case against the cricketer, accused of dumping her without a formal divorce. Farooq Hassan said that Ayesha's father Mohammed Siddiqui had contacted him from India and asked him to file a case against Shoaib. According to reports, Ayesha's family had sent a legal notice to Shoaib, but Hassan said that he was not aware of this. "I don't know anything about this, but all I can say is in next few days I will be deciding on what to do in Ayesha's case," The Daily Times quoted Hassan, as saying. The Siddiquis claim that Malik married their daughter Ayesha in 2002, but has not divorced her till date. The Hyderabad based family had also produced pictures of Shoaib-Ayesha's Nikahnama (marriage certificate) that states that their marriage was solemnised on June 3, 2002.

Titled "Miss Lovely", the movie aims to expose the working of the porn world in the 1980s and also how several girls were exploited in it.
The movie will also feature Nawaz Siddiqui, who was previously seen in films like Firaaq and New York. He plays a character who wants to rescue a girl from the porn industry. Twitter Apps for iPad To Look Forward To on Launch

Twitter, the intelligent social network which recently updated its webpage for real time tweets, has no plans to bring in an official application for the much hyped iPad, although certain companies are bringing in thousands of apps for the social network to be made available on the iPad.
